The collection consists of two series: manuscripts and correspondence, dated from 1884 to 1931. The manuscripts include corrected proofs of two manuscripts; the author’s holographic revisions appear on the correct proofs of Memoirs of My Dead Life and Ulick and Soracha.

Despairs over further delays in printing: “Another ‘if’!” In a handwritten postscript, Moore lambastes Wells for the delays: “With ever[y] other publisher I have dealt with there is finality,” but with Wells, there are “ever recurring delays coming to sudden and full stops and multitudinous ifs.”
