Scope and Content

From the Collection:

The records of Rita Clark Nicaragua Collection are arranged alphabetically by folder title and range from 1928 to 2008, with the bulk of the records from 1988-2003.

The collection includes but is not limited to documents of the Nicaraguan government and its Washington D.C. embassy, organizational records of the Nicaragua-United States Friendship Office, United States government records, and secondary material related to Nicaraguan elections, history, culture, and other topics.

The collection includes records of the Nicaraguan embassy from the 1980s including correspondence, reports, press releases, memos, and other government documents. The collection contains materials from 1990-2007 created by the Nicaragua-United States Friendship Office including correspondence, board of directors data, financial information, announcements, gifts, and organizational histories. The collection also contains secondary materials created by governments, organizations, and individuals including correspondence, reports, announcements, news clippings, press releases, and organizational pamphlets. The collection contains one folder of photographs.

Materials are predominantly in Spanish, with some in English.
