The letters, manuscripts, and business papers that make up the collection chronicle the last years of the writing career of Norman Douglas, discussing his business dealings, research, travels and thoughts on other authors. He writes to find out whether Sachs received his copy of [An] Almanac that Douglas had printed in Lisbon at Christmastime. He says he is settled in London, and does not believe that he will ever leave. He tells Sachs that Orioli died in Lisbon a few days before Douglas left. [Orioli left a large inheritance to his servant, Carlo.
