The letters, manuscripts, and business papers that make up the collection chronicle the last years of the writing career of Norman Douglas, discussing his business dealings, research, travels and thoughts on other authors. Materials Specific Details
Douglas says that there is not a Florence Limited Edition of Looking Back: [An Autobiographical Excursion]. It is coming out in a commercial edition as "the Limited Edition mania is extinct." He refers to Hitler, saying that he "seems to be a shit." Douglas says there is a lot of suffering among his friends because of Hitler and the war. He has been told that Harpers has brought out an American edition of [H. M.] Tomlinson's book [Norman Douglas]. He asks Sachs to send him a copy if this is true.
