Materials Specific Details
Huntingdon Press has just written Douglas, begging him to send them anything he can. Orioli wants the money for the dedicated copy of [Paneros: Some Words on] Aphrodisiacs [and the Like] to be sent in dollars via the American Express Company because the post pays Italian currency at a miserable rate of exchange. A publisher and friend wants to take a chance on an unlimited edition printed in England. Douglas wants to give the Spiral Press two previously published articles that appeared in the English Review in 1909, and 1913. The articles deal with two Italian islands, the first with Ischia, the second with Ponza. To prevent the Spiral Press from thinking that he is "palming off old rubbish on them," Douglas includes a quote from a letter of Joseph Conrad that praises the paper on Ischia.
