Scope and Contents
The letters, manuscripts, and business papers that make up the collection chronicle the last years of the writing career of Norman Douglas, discussing his business dealings, research, travels and thoughts on other authors. The collection is made up of 6 series: Manuscripts, Correspondence to Albert Parsons Sachs, Correspondence to Others, Business Papers, Correspondence Concerning Norman Douglas, and Items about the Collection. The collection consists of 102 items dating from 1921 to 1970. It includes five manuscripts; ninety letters of Douglas; business papers; three letters about Douglas; and two letters about the collection.

Materials Specific Details
Douglas thanks Sachs for letters and press cuttings. Since he has no clipping bureau in America, there is no way of finding out if they notice his books. Douglas believes that the printer of the pirated edition of Some Limericks must be a philanthropist in disguise: he has given Douglas three copies. Two are to be sent to Douglas and one to a Mrs. Muriel Draper who is "howling for one." He can't print More Lyrics right now because he will be busy with work until Christmas, if not later. Douglas says that his new book is worded in such a way that it can "be seen lying on any young girl's table de nuit." He cannot afford any more trouble with censors or Home Office. Orioli could be forced to close his shop.
