The letters, manuscripts, and business papers that make up the collection chronicle the last years of the writing career of Norman Douglas, discussing his business dealings, research, travels and thoughts on other authors. Materials Specific Details
Douglas informs Sachs that H. Acton's translation of the Last of the Medici is available from Orioli. He says that it is a "naughty" book and it must be kept locked up. Simon and Schuster decided not to purchase the copyright of [How About] Europe? [Some Footnotes on East and West]. He thanks Sachs for "the portrait of that good looking young fellow that is going to form the frontispiece of Capri: [Materials for a Description of the Island]."
