The letters, manuscripts, and business papers that make up the collection chronicle the last years of the writing career of Norman Douglas, discussing his business dealings, research, travels and thoughts on other authors. Douglas has just returned home from Austria. He says that he will not sign any copies of [Some Limericks] at any price. He is delighted that the pirates are making money in America and criticizes D. H. Lawrence's exasperation with pirates, saying that he is a "liverish fellow." Douglas believes there is also a pirated edition on sale in Paris that was printed in Germany. He asks Sachs for the limericks of his friend, the chemistry professor.
