Scope and Contents
The Burne-Jones Collection consists of two series: Correspondence and Drawings. Correspondence includes letters written by Edward Burne-Jones and by Georgianna Burne-Jones between 1878 and 1907. Ten of the eighteen letters are undated. The collection also contains six original humorous pen and ink sketches by Edward Burne-Jones.

In sympathy for her being embarrassed by Charlie Halle, whom he describes as having a "deplorable nature," "but for the sake of the gallery one must put up with it." Burne-Jones confesses to having no head for business, and adds that he feels sorry for Charlie, who he believes wants to be liked despite his "odious manners" and "rude allusions."
