Materials Specific Details

[Topic of discussion is rather difficult to determine because of illegibility.] Gregory expresses her thanks to O’Connell for his sympathetic words “… in our great sorrow.” [Possibly the death of Hugh Lane or her son, Robert.] Discussion regards Lady Gregory’s proposal for a committee meeting. Names mentioned in the letter, MacColl and Witt, indicate that the discussion regards the controversy over the Hugh Lane pictures.
