Administrative History
The Women's Recreation Association was established at Bucknell University with the purpose of administering sports activities and a recreational program which provided a physical and social benefit to the women students. All Bucknell University women, including students, faculty and staff, were eligible for membership upon the completion of activity participation requirements. The Women's Athletic Association and Women's Physical Education Department also oversaw the May Day Program. The Women's Athletic Association was renamed the Women's Recreation Association in 1956.
