The Bucknell University Trustee/Faculty/Administration Panel on Tuition Planning and Family Affordability was formed in the spring of 1986 on the recommendation of the Board of Trustees at special budget meeting on February 7, 1986. The panel was established to consider and recommend long-range policies and practices to help preserve and enhance Bucknell's position in the educational market. The group was asked to consider the projected market and budget factors, tuition at frame-of-reference institutions, federal financial aid, national economic factors and indices, Bucknell's scholarship policy as it related to the tuition setting, the current budget process, and the long-range financial planning facotrs at the University. The panel was composed of fifteen trustees, faculty and administrators and produced its final report for the Board of Trustees in November of 1986.
