Administrative History
The Upward Bound program was established at Bucknell University in 1966 as a pre-college preparatory program for economically and educationally disadvantaged high school students in Union, Snyder and Northumberland counties, PA. The summer program focused on preparing and stimulating students' motivation for success in postsecondary education. The program was funded by the U.S. Office of Education and Bucknell University. It appears that the program ended in the early 1970s.
