The Athletic Advisory Committee was established at Bucknell University in 1952 as the successor to the Bucknell University Athletic Council. In December 1951, the Bucknell University Board of Trustees adopted a resolution requiring the athletics program be administered in the same manner as other departments of the University, including the selection and compensation of personnel. In addition to establishing the athletic department, the President of the University was charged with creating an Athletic Advisory Committee. The Athletic Advisory Committee was composed of a member of the student body, a faculty member, a member of administration, four alumni, the Director of Athletics, and the members of the Athletic Council before its disbandment. The Athletic Advisory Committee worked with the Director of Athletics and the Dean of the University on matters pertaining to intercollegiate athletics. The Athletic Advisory Committee was disbanded in 1967.
