Administrative History
The Association of Blacks for Progress was a student organization formed in 1969 and was “committed to the insured well-being and expansion of the Black community at Bucknell.” The group developed proposals for change in the curriculum, admissions, faculty, and other areas of university life. In spring 1970, the group organized the inaugural Black Arts Festival that became an annual celebration of Black culture and contributions to the arts.
