Bucknell Hillel is a student organization at Bucknell University that works to plan and promote a variety of activities for students to affirm and celebrate their Jewish heritage. It also seeks to contribute to the growth and education of the Bucknell community. Hillel was first established at Bucknell University in the early 1940s. When the V-12 program came to the University, Hillel became the official organization to care for the religious needs of Jewish servicemen, and it was soon serving both the servicemen and civilian students. Hillel has continued to serve the Bucknell community and currently is run by a student executive board in conjunction with the Chaplain for the Jewish Community, the Hillel Adviser and the Jewish Faculty and Staff Advisory Board.
