Administrative History
In 1909, the public speaking club, the Demosthenean Club, became a social as well as a literary group and took the name of Delta Sigma. In 1950, Delta Sigma merged with a national fraternity, Delta Upsilon, and the fraternity was known as the Demosthenean Chapter of Delta Upsilon. The fraternity is often referred as the "Demies."
