Scope and Contents
The records of Alumni Association of Bucknell are arranged alphabetically by folder title and range from 1879 to 1918. The records include Alumni Bulletins, college song books, correspondence and reports. Oversize folders include an Alumni Directory, a Commencement announcement and Bucknell Alumni Monthly publications dating from 1914 to 1918. Correspondence includes an invitation to the alumni for the 1879 commencement and inauguration of President David J. Hill. Reports include a report from the committee for the Tustin Gymnasium.

Administrative History
The Alumni Association of Bucknell was originally known as the Society of Alumni from 1851 to 1876. In 1876, the organization was renamed the Alumni Association of Bucknell and served the alumni of Bucknell University. As stated in its 1851 constitution, the functions of the Alumni Association of Bucknell included “the promotion of Literature, the preservation of pleasing associations, and especially, the welfare and advancement of the University.” All graduates receiving a degree from the Bucknell University were permitted to join the Alumni Association of Bucknell. In 1919, the Alumni Association of Bucknell was renamed the General Alumni Association (1919-1969). In later years the alumni association was known as the Bucknell Alumni Association (1970-2009) and the Bucknell University Alumni Association (2010-present).
