Administrative History
The Burmese Cultural Organization is a student organization with a purpose to organize cultural events to recover Burmese tradition and history, gather supply kits for distribution to under-developed Southeast Asian nations through the Brackett Foundation, assist in the funding of the Shaw Loo Memorial Scholarship and work to support the studies of Burmese students at Bucknell under this scholarship, invite speakers to campus in an effort to expose the Bucknell community to the most recent developments in Burmese society, celebrate the Burmese and Thai New Year in April, and bring to the East Asian Studies department at Bucknell, a professor specializing in the Southeast Asian region.
