Administrative History
The Bucknell Mothers' Association was formed in 1938 during the administration of President Arnaud C. Marts with a purpose to give parents of Bucknell students a means of promoting acquaintanceship, to foster a better understanding of student problems, and to undertake special projects to aid in the progress of the University as needs arise. The Association was made up of the mothers of all enrolled students and was governed by a board of directors made up of parents representing all four classes. By 1959, the Fathers' and Mothers' Associations had merged to become the Bucknell Parents Association.
