Biographical / Historical
The Stadler Semester for Younger Poets was initiated in the spring semester 1989 through an annual gift from Jack Stadler. The program allowed two talented and dedicated undergraduate poets from a college or university other than Bucknell to spend almost four months on the Bucknell campus while concentrating on the writing and study of poetry. The students earn a semester of academic credit for transfer to their home institutions. In 1999, for the first time, the Stadler Center funded only one poet with a full award. The program was not offered in 2000, but resumed in 2001.
